Innovation and vision have never been a challenge for Shawna Cruise, founder of The Loft Hair Design & Skin Care in Escondido, California. The celebratory ten year anniversary of her salon was treated no differently. With creative juices flowing, Cruise and her staff of expert hair and makeup artists pieced together a novel collection of regular San Diegans and transformed them into unique, avant-garde masterpieces that are each fearlessly beautiful.
The three gallery collections are inspired by a fusion of insight from the stylists, designers and their individual muses. Themes of the collections include motivation from a mix of Organix, Urban Underground, and Antique Nouveau backgrounds. Each set of work is accompanied by informative clips from the models and designers. Footage of the creators is utilized to express the power of artistic inspirations behind each transformation.
“It’s time to shake things up a bit and showcase the artistic force we possess,” explains Cruise. “Our aim was to infuse some excitement into our craft, challenge ourselves and step boldly into new territory. This was also an opportunity for me to give something to my team, allowing them to showcase their creative side.”
